About the Event
When: Saturday, August 13, 2016
Where: Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway, Eagan, MN 55121
Note: The Breast Cancer Ride happens in conjunction with our brother event, the AttaBoy Ride.
The 9th Annual Breast Cancer Ride, taking place Saturday, August 13, 2016, is a 1-day bicycle ride, with multiple route options, that raises money and awareness for local breast cancer service organizations. The Ride starts/stops at the Eagan Community Center at 1501 Central Parkway, Eagan, MN 55121. Download our brochure, poster, flyer or donation form. Spectator information can be found here.
The Ride is fully supported and designed to allow Riders of all degrees of experience to participate. Multiple route options are available to choose from (12, 23, 35, 42 and 65*). Keep in mind, this is a ride, not a race. And we provide route support in case you can't finish the mileage or you have bike issues.
Each Adult Rider (18+) pays a registration fee and agrees to raise a minimum of $350 in donations. Sound like a lot? That's just 10 friends at $35 each or 35 friends at just $10 each; easy peasy and for a good cause! Minor Riders, under the age of 18 and cycling on their own bicycle, pay a registration fee but are not required to fundraise. Keep in mind, minor Riders must have an adult Rider participate with them. The Adult Rider is required to pay the registration fee and meet the fundraising minimum. Children who will be in a burly/tagalong bike (connected to an adults bike) do not need to register or fundraise, however they will not receive any swag/shirt.
Registration Fee (Registration fees help cover a portion of the cost of producing the Ride):
$50 adult reg fee 8/1/16 - 8/13/16 (t-shirt not guaranteed but likely)
$35 minor registration fee at all times; no discounts
Check-In: 7:00am - 8:00am (Check-In closes sharply at 8:00am!)
Opening Ceremony: 8:00am (*all Riders leave at this time.)
*There are 3 main route loops to choose from: 12, 23, and 42 miles. You may do multiple route loops to add more miles. For example: a Rider wants to cycle 35 miles. To do so, they would do the 23 mile route first and then complete the 12 mile route last. When you select your chosen mileage make sure to do the longest route first as it will be the first to close (see below). You do not need to notify us which mileage you are doing.
*Route Close Times (you may not leave the Start Line/Eagan Community Center for the given route after this time):
42 mile route loop: 8:00am
23 mile route loop: 1:00pm
12 mile route loop: 1:30pm
Bring the family! The Ride is open to all ages. The Ride is open to all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. Please note, we are riding alongside city traffic so make sure to consider that when determining if your child is ready to do an event like this. Have small kids who can't ride? Put them in a burly or tagalong and bring them with!
Designate YOUR money YOUR way. We put the fundraising power into our participants hands. Participants select which beneficiaries they want to support from our list of approved local 501(c)3 organizations that benefit those affected by breast cancer. This allows you to select one that you are passionate about or all of them if you don't have a favorite beneficiary. See the list here. Donate safely online now or download an offline donation form.
